Gary Johnson is the Libertarian Party Nominee for President 2012

Gary Johnson was governor of New Mexico for 2 terms (8 years, 1995-- 2003), the maximum allowed by law. He left New Mexico with a $1 billion budget surplus. He endorsed Ron Paul for president 4 years ago.

Mitt Romney was only governor of Massachusetts for 1 term so Johnson has twice the executive experience of Romney and Obama! When Gary Johnson was Governor of New Mexico, it had an 11.6% increase in private jobs! Romney had a 1.5% increase. Does the U.S. President take an oath to uphold the law? No! See conclusion at the bottom.

Latest News: September 7, 2012: Gary Johnson just came out with two 2 minute ads that are done very well. One is aimed toward Ron Paul supporters, like I am. Below you will see that Ron Paul is now working on his 2016 election. Gary Johnson says on second ad:

Be libertarian with me for one election!

Please take 4 minutes to watch these 2 ads now (on the right), before reading the rest of this article. Click on Youtube to see it there in full screen and see Gary Johnson climbing Mount Everest.

This was written on September 2, 2012. Before writing this I listened to Ron Paul's hour speech on August 26, 2012. He said the Ron Paul revolution is growing.

He is no longer running for president for 2012 and he said that he is not going to the Republican Party Convention since they are not recognizing any of his delegates and he can only speak if he says what they want him to say and endorses Romney. He said on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno that he is not running for 2012 so he will start preparing for his 2016 election (he will be 81 years old and oldest president was Ronald Reagan who was 69 when elected president).

Very Important

Both Obama and Romney want us to keep killing people in other countries. If someone in America kills another in America, it is murder. If an American kills someone in another country or dies trying, they are a hero. But they still know what they did. That is why a U.S. veteran commits suicide every 80 minutes. Just do a search on the internet to see this. Also at bottom of article.

Both Johnson and Dr Stein want to stop killing people in other countries so veterans will not want to kill themselves. The reason for killing people in other countries is to make a lot of money for the companies that makek a fortune on selling weapons and other items for war.

Make sure to open a new window before clicking on links since some websites cause the BACK button to not go anywhere. I have a friend who believes that there is no hope for our corrupt government. I am not here to pass judgement on them or try to predict the future. Maybe he is right. But I feel that I should try to help, since if no one cares, then how can things get better.

There is a popular saying "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” It is attributed to Edmund Burke but wikiquotes said that there is no proof he ever said this. There are many variations of this saying also. Wikiquotes says:

Edmund Burke (January 12, 1729 – July 9, 1797) was an Irish political philosopher, Whig politician and statesman who is often regarded as the father of modern conservatism.

Gary Johnson says that his summation of good living is "do unto to others as you would have them do unto you." This article that was taken down says:

Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson is not so well-known across the nation, though he is legendary in the state of New Mexico.

Gary Johnson, 59, is an entrepreneur, businessman, competitive athlete and renaissance man in addition to being a two-term Republican governor of the state of New Mexico and a 2012 presidential candidate.

Governor Johnson is known for his small government, low-tax libertarian philosophy and his aggressive use of veto powers thousands of times --- more vetoes than the all U.S. governors combined.

Johnson was the first governor of New Mexico to be elected to a second four-year term, winning the Latino vote against a Latino Democratic candidate in a heavily Democratic Latino state. Interesting.

Johnson put himself through college by being a door-to-door handyman. He created one of the biggest construction companies in New Mexico. While running for president in the Republican party first he said that if he was nominated he would choose Ron Paul as his running mate.

It is obvious that Obama and Romney have been bought and paid for by the big corporations, so they are serving their interests and not the interests of the people. This is why the country is having so many serious problems and the super-rich are getting richer and the rest of the people are getting poorer.

The general idea of being a libertarian is not about what is good for you or bad for you. It is about not letting the government control your life. Your civil rights are more important than the government which is supposed to serve the people. It is like parenting. One way is to treat your child like you are the dictator (like Adolf Hitler) of their life and tell them what to do and punish them for what you believe is wrong. This method comes from Nazi Germany.

Now what the child really needs is your love like with attachment parenting (See Attachment Parenting Builds an Abundance of Self-Esteem). So the other way is to give them your love, be a good example since children learn by imitation and then let them decide what to do in their lives. People learn from making mistakes. The poet Kahlil Gibran says about children, "give them your love but not your thoughts, for they have their own thoughts."

In the Yequana village described in the book, The Continuum Concept, you find out that the parents there never, ever tell the children what to do. But these children are not hateful but very loving being raised with attachment parenting so they are much, much more social than American children. They raise children instead of rearing children. Who came up with that awful term, rearing children and why do people continue to use it.

Gary Johnson on Foreign Policy and Military

Gary Johnson's website (taken down) says:

Our military should remain the most potent force for good on Earth. To do this, we should resort to military action as the last option and only as provided in the Constitution.

Bring the troops home. AMERICAN MILITARY ACTIVITIES IN AFGHANISTAN SHOULD END.

Please note that the Korean war, Vietnam war and all following wars were not supported by the Constitution which says that war has to be declared by the Congress. That was not the case with those illegal wars that killed many Americans but did not make a difference. The part about declaring war is fact but what followed is my opinion. This is the same stand that Ron Paul has. This will save the U.S. from spending over a trillion dollars a year that we do not have. It will also save many parents from dying and leaving children without a parent.

Gary Johnson's Position on Drugs

Gary Johnson wants to make marijuana legal just like Ron Paul did, but Dr Paul wanted to make all drugs legal. Then all the people in jail for marijuana possession can go free and we will not have to pay $50,000 a year to support them. Green Party nomination for president, Jill Stein is a medical doctor. She has this same stand on making marijuana legal.

Personally I do not believe in using illegal drugs, legal drugs like alcohol and smoking cigarettes and I have never done them. But I believe that people should have the right to choose since you learn from making mistakes. I also believe that medications hurt people more than it helps them.

Dr. Daniel Amen is known as the brain doctor since he has done thousands of brain scans and wrote best selling books on the brain. His sister told him that her daughter was depressed but she did not want to take any drugs. So Dr. Amen told her to take omege-3s and gave her other suggestions. His niece was cured by this. So Dr Amen had to re-think his whole approach to helping the brain. From Gary Johnson's website:

By managing marijuana like alcohol and tobacco – regulating, taxing and enforcing its lawful use – America will be better off. The billions saved on marijuana interdiction, along with the billions captured as legal revenue, can be redirected against the individuals committing real crimes against society.

This is bad news for pot dealers since those profits will now go to the government instead of them. According to Johnson's website, last year 600,000 Americans were arrested for marijuana possession. Please note that the U.S. government has smoking tobacco as legal, but they are against people smoking and have advice to help you break that addiction.

His running mate is Judge Jim Gray. He learned that because marijuana is illegal it is very tempting for young kids to take $50 to run errands for marijuana dealers and become criminals. Making it legal would stop this. Note that he had to determine the punishments for these kids and he disliked it more and more.

Gary Johnson on Economy, Taxes, Government Spending and the Deficit

Bringing the troops home will save the U.S. over a trillion dollars that can be used in the U.S. Also instead of soldiers spending money in other countries like Iraq and Afghanistan, they can spend that money in the U.S. The president is the supreme commander and chief of the armed forces so as President, Gary Johnson can bring them home immediately from the illegal wars that they are in.

Gary Johnson wants to cut wasteful government spending by over a trillion dollars. Ron Paul wanted to abolish the Federal Reserve. Johnson wants the Federal Reserve to be examined, re-assessed and reformed. Also from his website:

Get the Federal Reserve out of the business of printing money and buying debt through quantitative easing. [This is destroying the economy.]

Green Party Nominee Jill Stein and Gary Johnson

Jill Stein is the Green Party nomination for president. The issues on her webpage are coming soon so maybe I should write an article about her. But as far as her chances of winning, she ran for governor of MA against Romney and lost. That is pretty much her experience in politics.

She is a doctor like Ron Paul. On a website about her it says that she said (Dec. 2011) "US should behave as member of world community, no[t] world cop." That is what Ron Paul would say and Gary Johnson is also in favor of that.

She also said (Dec. 2011) "We should not be in Afghanistan; no military solution." She is against the death penalty but I do not know if she wants to make a federal law against it.

Instead of wondering what Gary Johnson's stand on this is (not mentioned), learn that Libertarians are against the government making laws to control people. So the federal government should not make a law against it but it is up to states to decide for themselves. The death penalty is legal in Pennsylvania but has not been used in over a decade.

Dr. Jill Stein says that a gun in the house is more likely to hurt someone there then to defend the home. No mention if she wants to make a law against it so it is important to wait for these issues to be put on her website. Of course a libertarian believes in people deciding for themselves instead of the government trying to control their lives.

Gary Johnson is in favor of protecting the environment and so is Dr. Jill Stein since she does represent the Green Party. Note that it says that Dr Stein is a strong left liberal. Also Ron Paul is a right conservative. Yet on the most important matters like the foreign affairs, military, government spending and economy, they are in agreement. So maybe those labels are stupid and no longer needed. It is just like labeling Obama black. His mother is white so he is half white.

Actually it is better to say that Ron Paul and Gary Johnson are libertarians. Gary Johnson said in an interview that Jennifer Aniston and Drew Carey are libertarians when talking about potential running mates. 30% of libertarians are pro-life but Johnson agrees with the current law about abortion being legal up to a certain point. In other words, he agrees with the U.S. Supreme Court. Also this is not an executive decision for the president. It is a judiciary decision for the Supreme Court.

I was considering putting up a video about Gary Johnson being interviewed about abortion. But the newsman was very nasty. Gary Johnson told him that a woman should have the right to choose up to the point that current laws allow. This guy is pro-life and was trying to intimidate like he was Adolf Hitler. He asked if Johnson believes that a newly conceived fetus is a person so he can talk about the rights of the fetus.

Gary Johnson said that he believes that is it for every woman to decide for herself if the newborn fetus is a person. This guy would not accept this answer. Gary Johnson told him that he just has to agree to disagree. But the guy refused to accept this.

Sarah Palin said that when she was being interviewed she came off looking bad. But this newswoman was being nasty to her and like Gary Johnson, if it were not being taped they would just say "I do not respect your attitude so I am leaving." Probably a feminist (anyone who believes that men and women should have equal rights) would say something like "my vagina is my business and not the business of men in the government." Actually they were saying that people should bring their vaginas down to the Republican Party Convention and tell them to stay out of their vaginas. Of course misogyny (hate of women) is popular in the U.S.

In Conclusion (Make Sure to Read This)

While addressing comments I remembered something from the 2012 debates. Romney was asked a question and he did not know the answer so he said to ask Ron Paul since he is the constitutionalist. So Ron Paul answered it.

Then later they asked about taking a vow of marriage seriously since Gingrich had had 3 wives and there was talk of cheating going on. Ron Paul said that he has only had one wife. But then he said that what vow or oath he thinks is the most important to take seriously is the vow the president takes to uphold the constitution.

Wikipedia says:

The oath of office of the President of the United States is an oath or affirmation required by the United States Constitution before the President begins the execution of the office. The wording is specified in Article Two, Section One, Clause Eight:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

How can you do that if you do not know what the constitution says? The Ron Paul Revolution is growing!

The first video below is Ron Paul on the Tonight Show on September 4, 2012. He says that he is not running for president in 2012 in case you have doubts. He says that he is preparing for 2016. He is 77 now and will be 81 years old in 2016. He says that it is important to bring the troops home. His motto is "We just marched on in so we can just march on out."

The next video is something that every American should watch-- Break the Set by Abby Martin. No mention of Gary Johnson or Jill Stein. It is a news show where it says that the 2 parties just do what the big corporations want. It is excellent. It says that George Bush made illegal wiretaps and torture legal and Obama codified it. There is no left and right. Abby Martin says that what they are talking about at the 2 conventions does not matter. They are just "Weapons of Mass Distraction." All the news that you see on TV is controlled by 6 corporations.
