At age 16 I was a volunteer at a hospital bacteriology lab. I became a chemist for U.S. government. Then I studied health & related fields.

Yoga Makes You Beautiful

This article is all about how yoga can make you look and feel more beautiful. I know that beauty is in the eye of the bee holder (I mean beholder). An Indian saint and poet, Kabir, says:

And if you make love with the Divine now, in the next life you will have the face of satisfied desire.

This article was written March 14, 2014. Here was my motivation to write this article. I already knew that many celebrities did yoga to look and feel good. This includes the highest paid model in the world-- Gisele Bündchen. I have an article all about her called Why Does the Highest Paid Model in the World Not Wear Sunscreen.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been doing yoga since law school. While in law school, Bill Clinton would do these yoga classes with her. He later became president of the United States. While he was president, the U.S. had a surplus of money. Now the U.S. has a multi-trillion dollar debt.

A few days ago I saw the article about Jared Leto looking good and much younger due to yoga and a vegan diet (see pictures on the right).

Then a couple of days ago I saw a picture of a yoga instructor on Twitter-- Heidi Rae. I was amazed at how adorable she looked. She is also very nice.

Did you know that working at a McDonalds can make you millions of dollars? Gisele Bündchen was 14 and working at a McDonalds in Brazil when she was discovered. Natalie Portman was a teen at a pizza place when she was discovered and became a model. Then she got into acting.

Note that the above says that Jared Leto was doing yoga and was a vegan. On the right under the pictures is an article from Heidi Rae about people starting to do yoga. She addresses the idea that all yogis or yoginis are vegans. Also she addresses the idea if yoga is a religion.

Heidi Rae is an inspirational Canadian Yoga Teacher who encourages others to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. Her caption "Feel The Echo" comes from the idea that every action has a reaction and if you make a big enough sound you can feel the echo! She says:

When you add yoga to your daily routine you definitely start to notice changes in many ways! Yoga literally renews the mind and body in a way that you start to treat yourselves better by eating healthier, drinking more water, and learning to de-stress. All this leads to a healthier you which even comes across in glowing skin and stronger hair and nails. Not a bad perk on top of all the other great benefits of yoga!

When looking for pictures of Natalie Portman I found this article called Celebrities and Yoga. It says:

Hollywood knows how to look good. For many celebs, their livelihood depends on it. So when enough of these A-listers have gone on the record lauding the far-reaching benefits of this ancient spiritual practice, maybe we should listen.

Yoga has the power to settle your mind and take the focus from your outer self and turn it inward. Whether it’s an acne breakout or a wrinkled forehead, stress shows up in our bodies. For many, the peace yoga instills is not just a welcomed retreat, but a needed treatment to stay and look healthy.

Using your own body weight to support you, yoga tones and strengthens practically every muscle in your body, even muscles that you didn’t know you had.

On the right are pictures of Laura Kasperzak and her daughter Mini. She has over 700,000 followers on Instagram. To see all of her pictures on Instagram go to Her Page on Instagram. On April 9, 2012 Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion.

Yoga is over 5,000 years old. I have been doing yoga since age 12. At around age 6 I asked my mother what was the purpose of life when in the end we would be dead. Being very logical I said that if I die tomorrow I will be in the same place as if I lived for 70 years and then died.

We were Jewish and knew about the Christian idea of heaven but did not believe it. So my mother did not know, but for me it was a big deal. Here is my generalization. Jews love to read a lot. Bill Gates says that Israel has the best education in the world and that they created anti-virus software and that Israel Microsoft created many things like Windows XP.

So my mother would bring my brother and I to the library every 3 weeks. You have 3 weeks to return or renew a book or you get fined. We would be there for for many hours and each of us would leave with about 9 books. But my brother and mother would only read fiction.

On the other hand, I would only read non-fiction. So I first started reading about things that I liked, like rocks and minerals, snakes and insects. Then I got more into self-improvement. I was reading a book on yoga philosophy and here is what it said was the purpose of life.

It said that a person reincarnates lifetime after lifetime doing the same things like getting a job, getting married, having kids and everything. It is like a wheel that goes in circles and goes nowhere. But the goal of life is to find out what you really are. It is to actually experience that you are an immortal soul that is one with God.

And knowing that, you feel perfect peace, endless love and infinite happiness-- an end to suffering. So that made perfect sense to me. In fact you may not believe in all of this, but let me ask you a question. If it were possible, would you want all this-- perfect peace, endless love and infinite happiness?

Why does it sound so good to you if it is not possible? A few hundred years before Jesus Christ was born, there was Socrates. He taught that the most important thing was your immortal soul. His famous saying about this was "Know other people." Just kidding. It was "Know thyself." So this is why I started doing yoga at age 12. But I also started learning kenpo karate and tai chi at age 12. Please note that Buddhist monks in Shaolin Temples did martial arts.

Time for a 3 minute video break. Below is the trailer for the Yogawoman film or movie. The webpage about this says:

From the buzzing streets of Manhattan to the dusty slums of Kenya, from the golden beaches of Australia to the serene piazzas of Italy, the film follows the heart-rending stories of women who have found a lifeline through this magical and mystical practice.

With vivid detail and poignancy, YOGAWOMAN shows how women have embraced yoga for easing health conditions like breast cancer, infertility, heart disease, and anxiety and depression.

[Note that poignant means painfully affecting the feelings or pleasurably stimulating].

So the above refers to yoga as a magical and mystical practice. A yoga teacher in this video says "Yoga is the state where you are needing nothing, where you feel whole and complete." Another teacher says about yoga, "It will make you so much more accepting of yourself."

The Mystical and Magical Practice of Yoga

Many people love the Harry Potter books and movies where people can change a horse into a pumpkin. But that is fiction. But maybe yoga can change you into what you really are, that is more beautiful than you can ever imagine, even in your wildest dreams.

Wikipedia used to say under yoga philosophy:

In all branches of yoga, the ultimate goal is the attainment of an eternal state of perfect consciousness.

The video above says that yoga was originally not designed for women, but women have made it into a multi-billion dollar industry. Note that on one of my articles I have a picture of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) doing yoga.

I have a very popular article called 23 Very Famous Celebrities That Do Yoga. I have another article called What is Yoga and What Does It Do. It asks if yoga is an exercise, a religion or a science of raising consciousness. Also did you know that Dr. Oz has his patients do yoga. See book below on yoga by a medical doctor (on the cover of that book). Also he has a daily exercise routine that incorporates yoga moves into it.

I had some strange experiences with women that caused me to write an article called Does a Vegan Diet Cause People to Look More Beautiful. The science behind this is that fruits and vegetables have in them carotenoids that make the color of skin more attractive in blacks, whites and Asians according to surveys.

The science behind yoga making you look better and younger is that yoga has a powerful anti-aging effect. This is because yoga stimulates the endocrine system glands that produce hormones. These glands include the sex glands, the adrenal glands and the thyroid gland.
